Jamila el-Dine- She's a local nutter than believes aliens called the Annunaki built the pyramids. "Do you know how effective curses are? They are deadly 76.42% of the time" It's funny, "Suckers talking to Crazies" is how I feel when I have to speak to you. I really would hate this chick in real life. Have YOU found a legendary crystal skull? Have YOU infiltrated an Italian crime syndicate and recovered lost pieces of art? Have YOU thwarted over 25 different villainous plots?! No? Ok, well then be a good girl and sit in the corner and let the adults handle this. That's a bold power move there Lily, Oh you NEED to be in charge of me huh? Go f*** yourself. But even with all her set backs, she had no problem in declaring herself the boss of Nancy at her soonest opportunity. She was also accused of cheating and plagiarism in college which is why it was so strange that Abdullah hired her in the first place. There are two true things about white people, we love Rachel Ray and we are terrified of curses. This is her first expedition and though she seems ambitious she is extremely paranoid (annoying), nervous (annoying), anxious (annoying) and somewhat unsure of herself (annoying). Lily Crewe- A PhD student from Kingston University majoring in Egyptology. " She is so much like me I'd be a hypocrite not to like her" " If a lion could speak, we could not understand him" "Someone I fully trust would never be able to surprise me" "That's how I learned to read hieroglyphs at first they were inscrutable and mysterious, but then I got some tips." " So I must know, are you very brave- or just very stupid" And he offers up the bet quotes for the game. But he actually does offer some real gems of wisdom in his rants. And everything he says is soooo dramatic and his sass level is like 1000. He talks a LOT so take caution when entering into a conversation with him. I think that is the reason WHY he hired her. He also appointed Lily even though she has some what of a sketchy background. He hates Jamila even more because she thinks aliens built the pyramids. Anyways, he hates tourists, he thinks that they steal from the sites, destroying his country's history with their ignorance. Even so, you gotta admit that that pharaoh story was poetic AF. He has a very strong personality which is a polite way of saying he's a DICK. When we first arrive at the scene, it's during a terrible sandstorm and we see Professor Boyle laying unconscious on the floor! While he is recovering in the hospital it's up to you and Nancy to figure out who and why someone attacked him!Ībdullah Bakhoum- Egyptian assigned liaison to the Kingston dig team. The site is rumored to be cursed, fueled by recent suspicious accidents and injuries. Now in the present day, Nancy joins a team of present day archaeologists as they unearth the tomb presumed to be the once lost 60 years ago. I finally quit in a rage and it took me at least a few days before I decided to try it again.Overview- 60 years ago a sandstorm uncovered a tomb outside Cairo, a British team of archaeologists set off to explore the tomb, hoping it would be the final resting place of the mysterious lost queen, Nefatari. I also spent an embarrassing amount of time at the beginning stuck in the tower room struggling with the controls. I found it really boring until the game got to around halfway through the second day, so I struggled to actually make myself play it for very long at a time. If you're going by the amount of time from when you first played to the day when you actually finished, not total gameplay hours, Midnight in Salem was the longest. I also found it super boring overall (even though it had two of my favorite characters, Deirdre and Ryan), so that might have made it feel even longer. Even when I got to a new puzzle sometimes I couldn't figure out what the point of the puzzle was. I played on junior detective so I had the longer task list, but even then the game seemed really unintuitive about what to do next. Even with the repeated disc swapping I don't think I even broke the two-hour mark.
